Breeders are not only great dog lovers, but they also carry out a very responsible task of maintaining the breed's proper condition. They assume the responsibility for preventing faulty species from participating breeding programs in order to avoid the pollution of the breed with undesirable features. All reputable breeders have registration papers, which give them the right to carry out their mission.
Qualified breeders never miss a chance to share information about their dogs with potential buyers and are always open about disadvantages of their pets. A true breeder will present to you any sort of information on health problems and the genetic background of a particular puppy. He or she will go all out to make sure his or her puppies are going to live in proper conditions, and this may involve a visit to your house and a conversation with the members of your family.
Chihuahuas are very delicate creatures, concerning their health, and therefore they require special care and supervision. They are very prone to injuries, and they are better off with elderly people. Chihuahuas are not the right dogs for those who look for companions in long-distance runs and rigorous physical exercise.
